Consider this, over 13000 islands connected as the same distance as from New York city to San Francisco (an archipelago's country), formed a country were people lives in harmony with a national motto: Bhineka Tunggal Ika ( Unity in Diversity ) and a Panca Sila ( Five Principles ) foundation. Believe in GOD is First and a main principles to live.

Republic of Indonesia with a population of almost 235 million, that make Indonesia's the world fourth most populous nation after China,India and the USA. Its people represent more than 500 ethnic groups and speak over 700 languages . Indonesia is rapidly developing its capabilities and resources in processed materials, manufactured goods and minerals products. In addition to its traditional agricultural products such as spices and variety foodstuff, not to mentioned rich of sea food ( as we know two third of the country surround by sea water ) Indonesia is the largest oil exporter in Southeast Asia,the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas and plywood,and the world's second largest exporter of rubber and palm oil.

The country's founding father, laid the foundation for the country to be in Nationalism political atmosphere at all times and always maintain its principles of "Pluralism", "social welfare" and "people's sovereignty", Indonesia has gone through a significant changes on multiple fronts; political,economic and social after the 1997/1998 Asian financial crisis. Today Indonesia is the World's third largest democracy country, a direct presidential election in 2004 ran peacefuly.

As a member of the global community, Indonesia continues to adapt/changes that includes a continuing economic threats, which in many cases are driven by force originating from outside of the country. United States remains a key driver of the global economy with its domestic energy consumptions, the rising influence of Asian consumers can't be overlooked, With the population over 235 million, Indonesia also known as a democratic and most Muslim populous country in the world, where it has a significant role in south east Asia region and the world in general. To broaden the role of Indonesia, Indonesian people and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia representatives working together in providing information to the American public.

The Indonesian American Association Of The Carolinas exist to served both needs. ( IAAOTC established in 2005 ) has invited Ambassador of Indonesia to the United States His Excellency Sudjadnan Parnohadiningrat and Consul General of Indonesia in New York, Mrs. Dra. Trie Edi Mulyani to visit Charlotte, meet with local community leader/s and directly inform/discuss current U.S.-Indonesia relations and the impacts to the region.

The Ambassador also is a keynote speaker at the Westin Hotel, hosted by World Affairs Council of Charlotte "U.S - Indonesian Bilateral Relations in current context of East and Southeast Asian Affairs" and a guest speaker at Marriot's in which attended by NC's Dignitaries. The June 6-9, 2007 visit by the Ambassador and Consul General also met with Mayor of Charlotte,South Carolina University ,North Carolina University,Asian Chambers,Chair of Mecklenburg county commissioners,MIC,WIE, and so many other organization included an interview by WTVI .

The IAAOTC also involved in Charlotte's Asian Festival activities. A Dragon boat race and other that take place on June 9.2007 at lake Norman. The Indonesian Consul also participate in this event.

As far as the number, a merely three hundred of Indonesians lives in Charlotte area, assimilating to the society/community. IAAOTC also as part of Asian Chamber of Charlotte. Peaceful and harmony in society is our aim.
